Can I visit your studio?

I would love to have you visit the studio. I enjoy talking about my work with my visitors.

Can I buy an original work from which your prints are later made?

Absolutely, you can see available artworks in the appropriate tab on the navigation bar.

What materials do you use to create your original paintings?

The oil paintings are created in time-honored fashion on hand-stretched, lead-primed Belgian linen. When creating works on paper, I use exclusively 100% rag paper, with proper care it will not degrade or yellow in any fashion. On paper, I work with gouaches, acrylics, charcoal, conté crayon and graphite, separately or in combination.

Do you create work on commission?

Yes, my most recent commission was a painting of a private garden in a Greenwich Village townhouse.

Can I call you?

Yes. We love to talk with our customers. My direct line is (917) 673-6789.

How are prints in this limited edition series made?

These prints are made by photographing original paintings and drawings with a professional quality Canon digital camera and preparing them for a computer-driven inkjet printing process. The photographic process includes adjusting color balance, white balance and tonal qualities specifically for printing. The studio prints exclusively on inkjet printers designed for exhibition-quality, fine art use. We use either Epson or Roland eight-color printers, depending on the final size of the output needed. We make test prints as needed to assure that color and the look of the print is satisfactory to the artist's exacting taste before they are shipped to the buyer.

How many prints are made?

Editions are strictly limited to 25 numbered prints plus three artist's proofs per image size. Depending on the size of the original, we may offer one, two, or three different image sizes. This allows the collector to acquire an image they love at a size that will work for their interior design needs.

Why are the size of the prints in the "add-to-order" line different in size from the images size?

Most prints are made with a two inch border on each side (a few of the largest have a three inch border preside) so that when you order them framed there is no need to mat them and therefore the framing charges are lower.

How long will these prints last?

The set of all eight color inks is laboratory-tested to last at least 200 years with proper care. They are printed on 100% rag archival paper.

What media do you work in when creating the originals from which the prints are made?

Original works are created in a variety of media, including oil paintings on linen, and works on paper using graphite, charcoal or Conté crayon, alone or mixed with gouache or acrylic. Only the finest quality materials are used in the studio.

Is framing available?

Our prints are all done on paper that is larger than the image size, so we can deliver your print in a Nielsen Matte Black Profile 117 frame with a professional spacer (making the need for an additional mat unnecessary). This is a drop down option at check out that automatically adds the appropriate amount to your total purchase price. Any other type of custom framing for the prints, and any framing for originals on either paper or stretched linen, is best discussed with your local framer. If you prefer, we can also recommend our New York framer who works with many galleries, museums and artists.

How do I care for my new artwork?

Prints and all works on paper are best hung framed and out of direct sunlight.
